2020 Ali Mountain Oolong - Award Winning
Our 2020 Spring Harvest Ali Mountain Oolong tea is here! It was harvested in May and it comes from Mr. Su's estate. This tea is tea connoisseur's favorite! Mr. Su's 2019 winter harvest oolong from his estate won a Gold Medal in the Ali Mountain Tea Tasting Competition. His 2018 spring harvest oolong from his estate won the Award of Excellence. These awards put our tea among the absolute best from a region known for premium oolong tea! This annual tea tasting competition is conducted by Taiwan's National Agriculture Council and is considered to be the authoritative ranking of teas from Alishan. Enjoy!
Alishan (Ali Mountain), located in Central Taiwan, is one of Taiwan's most famous Oolong Tea growing regions. At the high elevations of the Alishan region, fog and mist are present year-round. The climate features dramatic temperature shifts and the soil is ideal for growing tea. This combination results in slower growing tea leaves that are thicker. It is these thick, premium quality tea leaves which enable Alishan growers to consistently craft the uniquely fragrant, delicious oolong teas that make the region famous.
