The 2016 High Mountain Oolong spring harvest is absolutely terrific! This year it snowed in late January in Taiwan which is unusual (even in the mountains) for a sub-tropical island. The tea trees are dormant in the coolest part of the winter, and in this state they benefited from the temperature drop and the dry air. Another effect of the snow is that it delayed the spring harvest. However, our grower told us that the long wait for the 2016 Spring harvest is totally worth it because it has resulted in an extraordinarily healthy tea with more concentrated and complex flavors. We agree wholeheartedly!

Our 2016 Spring High Mountain Oolong has a subtle lilac aroma with a delicate flavor. When steeped, the pearl-shaped high mountain oolong tea leaves will unfurl to reveal beautifully hand-picked full leaves. To enjoy this tea in the true Asian tradition, steep the same leaves multiple times and enjoy the nuanced flavors of each different brew. 

Our grower’s ethic is to respect the land and to produce premium quality tea without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. He believes that everything that we do to our earth right now directly affects future generations. This motivates him every day in his choices of sustainable farming practices.
